Proverbs 19:23 The fear of the Lord leads to life; then one rests content, untouched by trouble.
The fear of the Lord is not fearing what he could do to us but more… fearing of what he has already done for us. He’s displayed his awesome power in creation, including us as humans and the resurrection of his son Jesus Christ proving he has an eternal plan that we are promised if we belong to him. He’s made clear thru his word the bible that he’s always in control, always on time and prophesies prove he is always all knowing.
It’s really simple if you replace fear with trust. That’s what this verse is really saying. If you trust God for who he is your life can and will be content. If I don’t apply this verse, I could watch one sitting of news these days and have my world rocked with worries or I could look at my bank account, relationships or illnesses I may have or loved ones.
It goes on to say untouched with trouble. That doesn’t mean trouble won’t exist in our life but if we fear the Lord, that means making daily decisions based with a “What would Jesus do” attitude the bible says right here in this verse “WE WILL BE UNTOUCHED BY TROUBLE”
What a great promise if we hold on to it.
