Word up — we thank you for loving us even after knowing us

Psalms 146:6 He is the maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them…

In preparation for Fourth of July… I’m going to drop a firecracker on you today. I prayed about this last night and felt led to share another side that might not be as appealing to us as previous messages I shared but is extremely important to realize.

I’m guessing I speak for most of us when I say that our faith is often driven by God fulfilling a need for us. Our need for deliverance, from suffering, anger issues, lack of joy, illness, bondage a need for just a moment of peace. Or, the other things we want. We want this job or promotion, this payout to come thru, this girl or guy to fall in love with us, this husband to carry his share of the load, this wife to appreciate us. All these things and more…depending on what the Lord is doing with these things, they seem to control the tempo of our faith, do you agree?

The truth of the matter is, we deserve nothing, he’s already out did himself with the creation of heaven and earth and everything in it, that includes us. He sent his son to die on the cross for our salvation. He owes us absolutely nothing yet, he’s expressed the greatest love for us, he’s giving us pleasures even in our disobedience to him hasn’t he. . Again…  I think it’s extremely important to understand who we are talking about and praying to because this idea that he needs to do something for us for our faith to be activated is foolishness.

He’s given us life and the offer of eternal life and he is worthy of all our praises. He’s not a genie… He is the king of kings, lord of lords, ruler of the universe, God almighty, maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. If you were to talk to the president today would you call him Barak or Mr. President? You would call him Mr. President wouldn’t you, that’s because of his position. Even more so, God is positioned as the most high and although he’s very approachable we should approach him with humility.

I hope this message is taken well and I want to pray for everyone real quick. Lord, I am guilty of this wavering faith due to my circumstances and I come to you on behalf of this group and ask that you would be exalted in our lives no matter the situation. Your grace is sufficient and everything else is just an extra blessing. I pray Lord that even in our worst hour that you are held the highest in our lives and we thank you for loving us even after knowing us. We are thankful that you have chosen us to share eternity with you by receiving your free gift through your son Jesus Christ.

And everybody said…

Song of Solomon Study

This is the story of a young girl as she encounters sex, love, romance, marriage and relationship with a guy. She starts out thinking that maybe she is good looking and might be acceptable to a guy. She becomes strong and confident in who she is and in her ability to bring contentment to her husband. A major part of the book is written in her voice: What she says, what she thinks, what she hears him saying. This little book in the Bible can provide some powerful insights.
