Word Up — “This book will keep you from sin, but sin will keep you from this book”

Isaiah 55:6 Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.

First of all, the word “found” is an acronym for “while God can grant you an eternity in Heaven” bet ya didn’t know that huh? Second, based on the promises of the bible, this has to be done while we are living. But I feel this verse speaks more than just the promise of Heaven…it’s really how to protect your investment in it.

There’s a saying that goes “This book will keep you from sin, but sin will keep you from this book” the more sin in your life, the more you’re separated from God. So, if the sin in my life puts me further from God then he’s going to be harder to find. What happens is, we become accustomed to our sinful ways and we only see the pleasures of blessing ourselves with whatever it is and eventually we find ourselves instead of God.

The world always says “do what ever pleases you, you need to find yourself, be happy with yourself” let me tell you something from experience. I found myself on my own and it wasn’t pretty. It wasn’t until I “found” Jesus that real joy and blessings came my way plus the awesome gift of eternity when I’m done enjoying it here.

Now, we certainly can’t seek him if we’re not looking and with people dropping like flies in unimaginable ways these days I wouldn’t gamble…not even another day. The verse goes on to say “call on him while he is near” again the less sin in your life the closer he is. If your life choices are separating you from God they are only going to get stronger and you will find that he is no longer near…bad place to be.

Take this verse today and secure your reservation. I want you to pray this with me, it’s so important!!!

Dear Lord…I want to find you today, help me draw near to you right now where I’m sitting or standing and help me understand this is a lifestyle and not just a one time decision. May my ways no longer separate me from you…not today, not tomorrow…not ever. I ask this in the name above all names, the name that saves…thank you Jesus.

Amen!

Song of Solomon Study

This is the story of a young girl as she encounters sex, love, romance, marriage and relationship with a guy. She starts out thinking that maybe she is good looking and might be acceptable to a guy. She becomes strong and confident in who she is and in her ability to bring contentment to her husband. A major part of the book is written in her voice: What she says, what she thinks, what she hears him saying. This little book in the Bible can provide some powerful insights. Are you ready to give it a try? Study Song of Solomon
