Jeremiah 31:29 …The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s mouths pucker at the taste.
Don’t play the blame game. Just because you had bad parents, grew up in a bad neighborhood, battling with siblings, bullied, lied to, made fun of, abused whatever the case we shouldn’t have to pucker over someone else’s sour grapes (issues). God is the good fruit we are to feed on. If we eat of the good fruit, the way we hold ourselves especially in adversity will be a witness to others and ultimately breaks the cycle so many of us fall into.
Jesus when going to the cross said “All things are new” that means when we repent, accept Jesus into our hearts, we are simply born into a new lifestyle. If you’re still living with the strife that makes you pucker you simply are not embracing the fact that God is now your father and I’m guessing his grapes are pretty ripe.
Let go what is no longer yours, and start living the ripe life Jesus died for you to live.
