Psalms 4:4 …when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent.
I’m going to keep it short and simple. Your bed, the last chance to repent each night before about a 10 hour window where Christ could come without you knowing. Our minds alone can do a great deal of damage in a day let alone sins we actually carry out physically. I think it’s very safe as a believer to take heed to this verse each night we hit the sack.
Search your hearts and be silent. To me, This means we should replay our day, searching our hearts with the Lord and asking for his forgiveness, thanking him for his mercy and grace he has given us for the day and simply to be silent, resting in the fact that you are under Gods care now. Refreshed, cleansed any ready for eternity. It’s just like checking if you brought your phone, activated your car alarm, shut the fridge, paid rent… It’s a step we need to confirm every night.
