Philippians 1:20 Christ shall be magnified in my body whether it be by life or by death
The verse, written by the apostle Paul was one who had been stoned, beaten thrown in prison and ultimately killed for his belief. Paul lived this verse out like a gospel gangsta. Well fortunate for us death is a bit extreme for outwardly showing your faith in Christ. However, I’m sure we’ve seen on the news of believers in other countries currently being sentenced to death for their Christian belief. What would make them hold on to something even to the point of death? 2 words, importance & promise
What I take from this verse is this…
It’s simple…If Jesus saw the importance to die on a cross for us, then we should see the importance to live for him, even to the point of death. Why, because we also know he rose again and if he rose again then we will rise again. That’s his promise to us.
Paul understood that and it enabled him to live life fearlessly carrying out anything and everything God wanted him to do. In his case, he wrote almost half the bible. In our case, we’ll only find out if we live this verse out. It’s a win win situation. Your walk will speak to someone in life and if it’s in death, for us we’re promised eternal life and for the cause Christ will be magnified.
God says fear not for I am with thee. Live fearlessly!!!
