Word up — it only began

Matthew 7:21 Not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of Heaven, but the ones who do the will of my father who is in Heaven.
There’s a couple sayings that come to mind when I read this verse. One goes “Only one life that will soon come to pass, only what’s done for Christ will last” and another one goes “God loves us just the way we are but too much to leave us that way”.

I’m sharing this because it’s important to be reminded of the last part of this verse especially. “But the ones who do the will of my father who is in Heaven”, but I thought that if I asked Jesus in my heart, I will go Heaven, right? Let me put it this way. When you turned in your resume, did your interview and got the job did it stop there? Yes, there was that excitement of being hired and the relief of knowing a check is coming, future plans are being made, purchases are being thought up but No, it didn’t stop there did it. It only begun.
So it is with Christ, there’s work to do. In the book of James it says “faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. It’s like getting hired and not showing up to work. How long is that job going to last. So what is this work we’re supposed to do. The truth is, I have no idea. I do however, know this verse and now… you do too.
So knowing this is a requirement to enter the kingdom of Heaven, we should be looking into his will more deeply. Are you asking to be used or use to not asking. There’s no greater blessing than partaking in the Lord’s work and that’s why he requires it, he want to bless you. I’ve experienced this in the lowest level of service. Be bold, ask God for your assignment, tell him you want to enter the Kingdom and you’re ready as you’ll ever be to do his will. Start by just being willing and don’t overwhelm yourself with fear of what he might ask of you.
Lord I pray this is the prayer of all who read this, that there is a desire to serve you in whatever you might have for them. Maybe you’ve already been speaking to them and it’s time, time to take a step of faith in something outside our comfort zone, rather it’s sharing their faith with a roommate, a loved one, committing to a weekly bible study, going to a retreat, whatever it is that furthers the love of your son Jesus Christ to others and ourselves, I pray that you would assign us that task.
Thanks everyone as always for hearing me out and look forward to seeing ya’ll at study today.

Song of Solomon Study

This is the story of a young girl as she encounters sex, love, romance, marriage and relationship with a guy. She starts out thinking that maybe she is good looking and might be acceptable to a guy. She becomes strong and confident in who she is and in her ability to bring contentment to her husband. A major part of the book is written in her voice: What she says, what she thinks, what she hears him saying. This little book in the Bible can provide some powerful insights. Are you ready to give it a try? Study Song of Solomon
