Word Up — How does that sound?

September 10, 2013 By dschenk Leave a Comment

Joshua 3:7 And the Lord said to Joshua, “Today I will begin to exalt you in the eyes of all Israel, so they may know that I am with you as I was with Moses.
This is a great verse of empowering! Just to help you understand it better put your name in place of Joshua and your community in place of Israel. Now read it again. How does that sound?
Moses had some truly superstar performances in his life. Just to name a few, the great plagues in Egypt, splitting the ocean in half and closing it on his enemies, free fresh bread delivery from the sky,  the first GPS system (God’s Pillar Service) Pillar of cloud in the day and pillar of fire at night to guide them to the promised land and of course the 10 commandments to show us what we can’t do without Jesus Christ.
Well Moses didn’t do all these things but he was used by God thru his faith to carry them out and when Moses spoke…things happened…straight up! God has designed us to perform as well. The greater our faith, the greater the miracles and I’m sure we all want miracles or have a miracle in mind for someone around us. So today I encourage you to take a step in growing your faith.
How…well faith comes from hearing Gods word, the bible and believing it. My tip is to “Read it like you need it”

Alright y’all bring out your inner Moses

Song of Solomon Study

This is the story of a young girl as she encounters sex, love, romance, marriage and relationship with a guy. She starts out thinking that maybe she is good looking and might be acceptable to a guy. She becomes strong and confident in who she is and in her ability to bring contentment to her husband. A major part of the book is written in her voice: What she says, what she thinks, what she hears him saying. This little book in the Bible can provide some powerful insights. Are you ready to give it a try? Study Song of Solomon
