Psalms 46:10 Be still and know that I am God, I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in all the earth.
Well here’s a verse that I feel helps with our discussion yesterday on the difficulty of that GINORMOUS task Abraham was called to do. One thing I failed to mention that I think is very important…This voice Abraham heard was no strange voice out of the blue. As I mentioned in our time we would think a request like that would clearly be from satan. No! This was a voice Abraham was very familiar with and it had lead him for many many years to greatness. He had a following, very wealthy…and God had delivered him from some crazy stuff already to much to write about right now but you should read the story of Abraham.
Anyway, that same voice prophesied that he would have a child (Isaac) with his wife that was already older than dirt and it happened. So, Abraham knew it when he heard it and there was absolutely no doubt “At All” he had to carry out this task because he was still and knew that it was God.
The verse also says I will be exalted among all the nations, I will exalted in all the earth. I jokingly said there was some serious tension after they returned home between Isaac and his crazy pops. If anything, Isaac saw first hand that “God will be exalted” over him and as we see today Isaac “STILL” served that very God.
So Abraham was “STILL” to know that it was God and Isaac “STILL” served God.
Be still, as you continue to walk with God he will speak to you and when you do those things he says you will become more familiar with that voice because it will become your “life agent” and I can’t tell what a blessing it is to feel God speak to you. For some of us it might be to pray for someone, to join a ministry for others it might be to cancel that date and spend some time with the Lord by going to a study.
The bottom line is he wants us to know who he is. Nothing else really matters…family, jobs, money, relationships, passions, hobbies, desires all must be sacrificed on the mountain so that God can be exalted thru those things.
Alright, have a blessed day. If anyone has questions hit me up. I don’t know much but I’ll do my best to find an answer for you.
