Proverbs 16:7 When a man’s ways please the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
This verse is cool because it reveals the power and respect God deserves. In my old ways I hung out and did bad things using bad language and ungodly conversations and what not. But after giving my life to Jesus and allowing him to change those things in my life so that I might please him, I began to return to some of those places I hung out at with excitement hoping to show proof. I knew if they saw change in me they would know “anything is possible” ha ha.
Our friends are not enemies to us personally but if they are not following Jesus they are his enemies. The bible says “if you are not with me, you are against me”. So as the verse reads “When a man’s ways please the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him” . So now when go visit old friends we talk and catch up but the conversations are censored. When they use profanity they say forgive my language and stuff like that.
This is done out of respect, not for me but for who I serve. Even though they don’t serve God his authority is present .The added benefit of this is as you walk with God in obedience your friends and co-workers will notice and hopefully respect the God you serve and it also keeps you from engaging in ungodly situations because you have set a standard.
Well, looking forward to pleasing him more as we start our new study today. Bible series woot woot!!!
