Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
It isn’t the peacelovers
it isn’t the peaceable
it isn’t avoiding conflict
It is stepping up and finding a way to work through a difference.
If you really don’t know who the ball was off going out of bounds — shoot for it.
If you are playing with team mates you can push more to get the call right. It doesn’t do any good for your teammate to get his way in practice, only to be called for it in a real game.
If you are playing pick up games where the losing team will sit out for an hour, you have your work cut out for you. It takes time to develop some friendships, and to develop a reputation of being fair. You aren’t going to win everyone over. Some will whine and cry and get loud so that they get their way. But others will want to find a way to work out the calls so they are fair, so they go both ways. More than just winning games, you can be winning over friends.
