What’s up group. God willing I’m going to try and shoot y’all a verse everyday
and “maybe” share a little on some of them that might be harder to understand. Today’s
verse…
“I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the Lord” Zechariah 2:10
Back in the days this was written people came to the high priest to take matters up with
God. So if you had an issue (SIN) and needed to address the Lord praying didn’t cut it…
instead, you would pack up your gear and head out on a trip to the temple of the high
priest with an offering (lamb or pigeon depending on status) to sacrifice too. For some
out in the boondocks this was quite a task and could take days and if you were poor the
offerings would hit the wallet pretty hard. Can you imagine throwing a sheep in the back
seat of your nice car and driving to church. Then telling someone your personal sins so
he can go dang! you’re gonna need a couple sheep for that one.
To me this prophetic verse is awesome because it was written before Jesus and
speaks of what Jesus would do on the cross for us. He made the ultimate sacrifice of
sin…himself. And with that death and rising he gave us the “holy spirit” thus the verse “I
will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the Lord”. This generation has something special
and we should exercise that benefit daily. We can speak directly to God right at our
desk, our car, the bathroom why because he dwells in us. Activate your prayer life it
came with a cost.
God bless
